Biography

Joseph A. Langlois is the owner of Langlois Family Law, APC. From the firm's office in Calabasas, California, he focuses his practice exclusively on family law, representing clients throughout Los Angeles and Ventura counties in complex and high-profile divorce cases and such related issues as property division, child custody and support, and spousal support. While he frequently recommends seeking resolutions through mediation or negotiations, he is an aggressive courtroom advocate on behalf of his clients when those alternative methods prove to be unfruitful. Mr. Langlois also has experience in preparing and reviewing prenuptial and cohabitation agreements.

Mr. Langlois has been a commentator on high-profile divorce and other family law cases. He has appeared on "Entertainment Tonight" as well as on a variety of network and cable news shows. His clients have included former Major League Baseball stars Barry Bonds and Gary Sheffield as well as the late country music legend Buck Owens. His fellow professionals have taken note of the ethical manner in which he has handled sensitive cases, as evidenced by his receipt of an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell.

As an undergraduate, Mr. Langlois attended the University of California, San Diego, for two years before serving a mission in Guatemala for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After two years there, where he became fluent in Spanish, he returned to California and enrolled at California State University, Northridge, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Magna cum laude in economics in 1985. Mr. Langlois then pursued his legal studies at the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University and was awarded his Juris Doctor cum laude in 1988. He is admitted to practice before all California state courts.
