Biography

Joshua Elbaz is the founding trial attorney of Elbaz & Elbaz, LLC, where he represents clients facing serious criminal charges across Georgia. Known for his courtroom presence, strategic litigation skills, and unwavering commitment to justice, Joshua focuses his practice exclusively on criminal defense, delivering aggressive advocacy backed by real trial experience.

Born and raised in Suwanee, Georgia, Joshua proudly calls Gwinnett County home. He completed both high school and college in the area, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC). He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School, graduating with honors and multiple academic awards in recognition of his legal scholarship and dedication.

While still in law school, Joshua worked alongside one of metro Atlanta’s most seasoned criminal defense attorneys, participating in more than ten felony jury trials. This early, hands-on experience gave him a deep understanding of courtroom procedures and sparked a lasting passion for trial advocacy. Upon graduation, he served as an Assistant District Attorney (ADA) in the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted serious felony offenses and developed a prosecutorial mindset that now informs his defense strategies.

Today, Joshua leverages his background as a prosecutor to mount vigorous, strategic defenses for individuals accused of crimes ranging from DUI and drug trafficking to violent felonies and white-collar offenses. He is known for never shying away from a jury trial, believing that justice is best achieved through fearless advocacy in front of a judge and jury. His clients appreciate his tenacity, precision, and ability to tailor legal strategies to the unique circumstances of each case.

In addition to his legal practice, Joshua serves as an Adjunct Professor of Legal Studies at Georgia Gwinnett College, where he teaches courses in law and business, mentoring the next generation of legal professionals. His academic involvement reflects his broader commitment to leadership and education within the legal field.

Joshua remains an active member of the legal community. He is affiliated with the Gwinnett County Bar Association, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (GACDL), and The National Trial Lawyers, which named him a Top 40 Under 40 Trial Lawyer. In 2023, he was also honored as a “35 Under 35” recipient by Gwinnett Young Professionals, recognizing his leadership and impact on the local legal landscape.

Outside of work, Joshua enjoys staying active through fitness and sports, traveling, and exploring new cultures. Deeply rooted in Gwinnett County, he is proud to serve the community where he was raised—both as a legal advocate and as a local leader committed to fairness, integrity, and results.
