Biography

Lou Waple has deep roots in North Carolina, having spent his entire life in Fayetteville. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before obtaining his law degree from Campbell University. Lou's career trajectory has been defined by his passion for courtroom advocacy.

His journey commenced as an assistant district attorney in Mecklenburg County, where he refined his skills in litigation. Transitioning to civil litigation defense, Lou concentrated on workers’ compensation cases, representing employers and insurance companies across the state. His commitment and comprehensive understanding propelled him to partnership in a prominent multi-state civil litigation firm.

In 2008, Lou embraced a new challenge by joining a statewide injury firm. There, he spearheaded the opening and management of the Charlotte office, advocating for injured employees in their workers’ compensation claims. Lou's tenure in high-volume practices equipped him with invaluable insights, which he now applies in a more personalized setting, prioritizing client accessibility over sheer caseload.

Expanding his scope in 2013, Lou became a certified superior court mediator, facilitating resolutions in both personal injury and estate litigation matters.

Beyond his legal practice, Lou actively engages with various community organizations, including his church and the Mecklenburg County Bar. He finds fulfillment in coaching youth sports and has contributed his insights to the Mecklenburg County Bar’s Grievance and Fee Dispute Committees. Lou's multifaceted involvement underscores his commitment to both legal excellence and community service.
