Mr. Mark Busby

Mark Busby has practiced law for more than 25 years and brings a career’s worth of trial experience to his work at Banks & Brower. For 18 years, he served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Marion County, where he prosecuted serious crimes, led specialized units, and ultimately supervised multiple courts. Mark tried more than 100 jury trials during his time in public service, including cases involving murder, OVWI fatality, arson, stalking, white-collar offenses, grand jury investigations, and special victim cases alleging physical and sexual abuse. He began his career assigned to a domestic violence docket and later was appointed Executive Director of the Marion County Child Advocacy Center, where he screened and vertically prosecuted child abuse and sex crime cases and handled violations of Indiana’s Sex and Violent Offender Registry. Mark also spent seven years on the Fatal Alcohol Crash Team, responding to fatal crash scenes and managing cases from the earliest investigation through final resolution. He later worked in the Homicide and Grand Jury Divisions and served as a supervisor in major felony courts, most recently overseeing six courts across misdemeanor and felony dockets. In addition to public service, Mark has eight years of private-practice experience that includes criminal defense, family law, civil litigation, Olympic sport matters, and Title IX litigation. Born in Canada and raised in Saudi Arabia, Mark values due process and approaches every case with urgency and care.
