Biography

Michael B. Eller - “Mike” was born in Columbia, SC, however, he moved to Abbeville, SC at an early age and considers Abbeville his “hometown.” Mike graduated from Abbeville High School and Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC. While at PC, he met fellow Derrick Law Firm attorney, Brandon Hylton, and more importantly (sorry Brandon), his wife of +20 years, Marisa Eller. Mike served as a student athletic trainer at PC working with the football, baseball, and men’s soccer teams. After graduation, Mike moved back home and worked several years for Milliken & Co. at the Abbeville Dye and Finishing Plant as a Product and Process Improvement Specialist.

Seeking a career change, Mike enrolled and graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2004. Mike is licensed to practice in both SC and GA; however, he has worked in SC exclusively since 2005. In 2005, he began handling workers’ compensation claims for employers and insurance carriers with the law firm, Turner, Padget, Graham & Laney in Florence, SC and ultimately moved with the same firm to an office in Greenville, SC. After nearly 8 years, Mike “changed sides” and began representing injured workers with workers’ compensation claims and since that time, Mike has continually represented clients injured at work and broadened his practice to include representation of clients with personal injury claims related to car wrecks, slip and falls, etc.

Mike is active in the community and attends church at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Greenville, SC. He served as a member of the Board of Directors for Greenville Little League and coached his son’s baseball teams for 10 years. Mike enjoys playing golf, spending time with friends and cheering on the Gamecocks. Mike is married to Marisa, and they have two teenage sons, Jackson and Bennett.
