Mr. Michael Joseph Dority

Michael Dority is a trial attorney on Morgan & Morgan's Texas Trucking Litigation Team. Michael represents individuals and families across Texas who have been seriously injured or lost loved ones in commercial truck and transportation collisions. His practice is dedicated to holding trucking companies, commercial carriers, and their insurers accountable when negligence causes catastrophic harm.

Before joining Morgan & Morgan, Michael built a successful plaintiff’s practice representing injury victims across Texas. Prior to that, he spent more than a decade defending some of the world's largest corporations, commercial carriers, and insurance companies in complex personal injury litigation. That experience gave Michael a firsthand understanding of how trucking companies, corporate defendants, and insurers investigate claims, assess liability, and develop litigation strategies.

In 2021, Michael made the deliberate decision to leave defense work and dedicate his practice exclusively to representing injured individuals and their families. Since then, he has used the knowledge and insight gained from years of defending corporations to advocate for those facing life-changing injuries. Michael’s experience on both sides of the courtroom allows him to anticipate defense strategies, build compelling cases, and pursue the maximum recovery available for his clients.

Michael earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 2011. While in law school, he competed in moot court and was invited to join the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society. Michael is licensed to practice law in Texas and is admitted to the United States District Courts for the Southern and Western Districts of Texas. Michael is also a member of the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys, the American Association for Justice, the Houston Bar Association, and the Houston Young Lawyers Association.
