Biography

Michael Roth is a limited liability partner at Wisener Nunnally Roth, LLP. He is licensed to practice law in Texas and before the United States District Courts for the Northern District of Texas, Southern District of Texas, Eastern District of Texas, and the Western District of Texas. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Dallas Bar Association and Garland Bar Association. He is the past president of the Garland Bar Association. Michael was also a participant in the Dallas Bar Association inaugural Civil Trial Academy.

Michael received his undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude. He received his Juris Doctorate from George Mason University in Arlington, Virginia, where he graduated cum laude.

Michael has a general civil practice that focuses on financial institution representation, commercial litigation, and transactional work. Michael assists various financial institutions with commercial lending, bankruptcy, foreclosures, evictions, and litigation. He has particular experience in documenting loans secured by real estate and personal property as well as substantial experience protecting creditor’s rights in bankruptcy proceedings.

Michael represents plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of commercial litigation in both state and federal courts, including cases involving contract disputes, partnership disputes, employment law issues and fraud. Michael’s transactional experience includes, among other matters, representing parties in the sale of a business or its assets and real estate sales and leases. Michael assists clients with entity formation, governance, and dissolution. Michael also represents receivers and insurance regulators in insurance company insolvency proceedings. This representation extends to assisting the receiver in pursuit of assets and handling claims in insurance company rehabilitations and liquidations. Additionally, Michael has experience in consumer matters such as landlord/tenant disputes, violations of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, and violations of the Fair Debt Collection Act.

Michael enjoys traveling and had the opportunity to study abroad in Spain while an undergraduate and in Japan while in law school. He and his wife Joanie enjoy spending time with family, watching movies, attending TCU football games, and eating good Mexican food.
