Biography

Murali earned a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Economics from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and a Juris Doctor from the Wake Forest University School of Law. After, Murali founded this law firm in 1995 and was joined by his good friend from law school, Robert Spiro, a few years later. The firm became Bashyam Spiro, and they dedicated their legal careers to helping immigrants by focusing their practice on immigration law. During the tenure of Bashyam Spiro, the law school duo helped many companies and families successfully achieve their immigration goals. Today, the firm is Bashyam Shah Immigration Law Group. Murali is the Managing Partner and guides his team to always focus on what matters – their clients. Although the complexity of this area of the law and the frequent changes initially drew him to the field, it was the impact on people’s lives that made him choose immigration law to be his calling. Murali brings a unique level of energy to every case. He is a skillful strategist in employment-based immigration including immigrant and non-immigrant visa applications processing, investment E2 and EB5 options, labor certifications, and executive and intra-company transferee visas. His strategic counsel on planning for recruiting and hiring foreign professionals has brought timely immigration solutions to clients across the globe from mid-sized companies to large multinational corporations. He is a sought after featured writer on immigration issues providing ongoing information to both his clients and those affected by changes in immigration law. Murali often serves as a resource to the media and as an educator to executive teams and human resource professionals. He also frequently counsels corporate and employment attorneys on aspects of immigration law.
