Biography

Nelson J. Roach is a partner at Roach Law Firm in Daingerfield, Texas, with over 30 years of legal experience. He has represented thousands of clients in notable cases, including serving as lead counsel for the Lone Star Steel Toxic Tort Litigation in 1987, representing more than 5,000 steelworkers. In his 30s, Nelson led a case for over 300 rubber workers at the Red River Army Depot, pursuing claims related to occupational diseases.

In 2021, Nelson secured a $730 million verdict in a collision case involving a U.S. Navy submarine propeller, one of the largest jury verdicts in the U.S. that year. He also successfully represented an inventor in a patent infringement case against major financial institutions and led a class action against Phelps Dodge Corporation, resulting in a major environmental cleanup.

Nelson has served as President of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and has been a key advocate before the Texas Legislature. He has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by The National Trial Lawyers and holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Nelson earned his degrees from Baylor University and clerked for the Honorable Robert Campbell of The Supreme Court of Texas.
