Biography

Thank you for reading my biography. My name is Richard Dellinger and I am the Firm’s Lead Trial Counsel. Although not a native of the Sunshine State, I have spent my entire legal career in Florida courtrooms fighting in the pursuit of justice. When Dan asked me to join his team of talented lawyers, I knew, without a doubt, I needed to bring my expertise to help the people of our community injured through no fault of their own.

My story started very simply and humbly growing up in a small town in Stokes County, North Carolina. Early on, I learned to have a strong work ethic and developed an ability to overcome struggles and tough times. Working farmland from the early morning hours then attending school was my way of life. During high school, as education took up more of my time, I went to work as a busboy and short order cook at a local restaurant. My perseverance paid off when I became the first person in my family to attend college.Staying close to home for college and law school, I received a bachelor’s and law degree from the University of North Carolina (Go Tar Heels!). Perhaps my proudest moment during those years was helping to represent falsely accused people in criminal cases for free, including the case of a wrongfully convicted teen that was profiled on national television. Working on those cases convinced me that I belonged inside of a court, in front of judges and juries arguing and winning my clients’ cases. On a personal note, I am so proud to live and work in Orange County. Although I have received numerous professional and personal awards, I am most proud of being a husband and a father. I coach my son’s youth baseball team and volunteer in our community. When time allows, I run marathons, cycle, fish and kayak. If you are ever injured in an accident, you have my word that I will work all day and all night to make sure you receive justice. I and honored and blessed to work with Dan Newlin Injury Attorneys to help you and your family.
