Biography

Robert A. Solove received his B.A. degree in Economics from the University of Florida in 1974. He went on to receive a Master’s Degree in 1977 and was awarded a Ph.D. in 1980 from the University of Florida in Economics. His dissertation involved a cost-benefit analysis of controlling water pollution among the various business interests throughout Central Florida. In 1982, he received his Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, from the Holland Law Center, University of Florida. He is a Member of The Florida Bar, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the Federal Trial Bar. Practice experience includes general civil trial practice, purchase and sale transactions, Commercial and Real Estate litigation, Creditor-Debtor law and collection litigation for institutional lenders, equipment leasing entities and Fortune 500 insurance companies.

Mr. Solove has co-authored a publication titled, "The Economic Importance of the Everglades Agricultural Area and Water Quality Management", published by University Press of Florida. He also co-authored a staff paper titled, "Evaluating the Costs of Alternative Water Quality Policies: Effluent Charges or Direct Controls?", Food and Resource Economics Department, University of Florida. He has taught Economics as an adjunct professor at Florida International University and Miami-Dade College. Mr. Solove provides pro bono services and serves on the boards of several local non-profit, community and charitable organizations. He and his wife have practiced law together for over 20 years. They live in Miami-Dade County, Florida and have three children.
