Biography

Robert Hale earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1990 and his law degree from the same institution in 1994. He was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar later that year. After law school, Mr. Hale began his legal career as a Research and Writing Specialist with the Office of the Federal Public Defender in the Eastern District of North Carolina, where he later became an Assistant Federal Public Defender. In this role, he represented numerous clients charged with federal crimes in the United States District Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and on petitions to the United States Supreme Court.

In 1999, Mr. Hale left the Federal Public Defender's Office to establish his own law practice in Raleigh, where he continues to represent clients facing federal and state charges, including serious offenses like murder. He is licensed to practice in all North Carolina State Courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of North Carolina, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
