Biography

Robert J. Strunin joined Walton Lantaff on May 16, 1983 as a lateral hire with experience as a trial attorney for two nationally prominent property/casualty insurers. He has been “AV-rated” by Martindale-Hubbell since 1987. He has substantial experience in all phases of property/casualty and Florida workers' compensation issues, including evaluation, discovery, negotiation, mediation, and jury and non-jury trials.

Pan American Bank, OJCC case # 83-000566GBH, Florida First District Court of Appeals case # 1D11-1512-established, at trial and appellate levels, that employer/carrier can withhold indemnity benefits for claimants' failure or refusal to submit employee earnings reports; Calabrese v. Fisk Electric, OJCC case # 04-017504DAL-established that Fla. Stat. 440.15(3)(c)(2002) precludes payment of temporary indemnity benefits more than 401 weeks after date of loss; per curiam affirmed by Florida First District Court of Appeals.
