Biography

With over 30 years of legal experience, Scott Beckey has dedicated his career to representing injured clients. His background as an insurance defense lawyer offers him a unique perspective, having gained insider knowledge on how insurance companies operate and their tactics to minimize claim payouts. Early in his career, Scott recognized the inherent disadvantage faced by accident victims, motivating his commitment to advocate for individuals rather than large corporations. Scott holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Education from Auburn University. Before pursuing law, he worked at Furman University’s Housing Office but soon followed his passion for law, earning his degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Demonstrating his trial prowess, Scott won the school’s trial team competition and represented his law school at regional events. His excellence in legal ability and ethics has been recognized by the “AV Preeminent Rating” from Martindale-Hubbell. Outside the courtroom, Scott enjoys smoking BBQ, cheering for college football, and spending quality time with his wife and daughter.

I have been opposing counsel in several cases with Scott. I have always found him to be very ethical, honest, intelligent, fair and, most importantly, hard-working for his clients.

Scott is a fine young lawyer who will likely earn an A rating in the future. I have not seen him in trials, but only in mediations, where he has done a good job representing his clients.
