Biography

Terry Dodds founded his law office in Bloomington to serve the community where he was raised. A second-generation native of the Bloomington-Normal area, he completed elementary and junior high through Unit 5 School District. After graduating from Clinton Community High School in 1992, he attended Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, IL on a basketball scholarship and completed an associate’s degree.

Terry completed his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Illinois State University. He attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, where he earned his Juris Doctor.

After finishing his legal studies at Southern Illinois University’s School of Law, Terry began his legal career with the Missouri State Public Defender’s Office in Buffalo, Missouri. For two years, he defended misdemeanor and felony defendants and tried his first cases. Mr. Dodds then went on to work for a very well-respected plaintiffs litigation firm in Springfield, Mo. Today, he is continually striving to build his own plaintiffs litigation firm in Bloomington, while still representing defendants in criminal court.
