Biography

Theodore S. “Ted” Eittreim attended the University of Virginia, graduating with a B.A. in history in 1995. Thereafter, he attended Emory University School of Law, graduating with his law degree in 1998. While Ted has been an Atlanta resident since 1995, he grew up in the shore town of Rumson, New Jersey, and he maintains significant ties to his home state, including being licensed to practice law in New Jersey.

Ted has practiced family law exclusively since 2003, and it has been an element of his practice since 2001. His practice focuses primarily on complex divorce cases, which typically involve the division of significant assets as well as dealing with complicated and highly-contested custodial issues. In addition to high-asset and high-conflict divorce cases, Ted’s practice also involves handling other family law matters including initial custody and parenting time determinations through paternity and legitimation cases for non-married parents, child support actions, the negotiation of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, as well as post-divorce matters such as contempt actions, modification cases, and appeals to the Georgia Appellate Courts. Ted’s typical clientele consists of high net worth and high-profile individuals; however, Ted is pleased to represent clients from all walks of life, and he strives to help every client navigate the emotionally taxing waters of their unique family law matter.

Ted is a member of the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia, and he is a frequent speaker on family law topics at continuing legal education programs and seminars. He has been named a Georgia Super Lawyer for multiple years, is listed among the Best Lawyers in America in the area of Family Law, and is rated “AV – Preeminent” by Martindale Hubble, the highest possible rating. Ted has also been recognized as one of Georgia’s “Legal Elite” by Georgia Trend Magazine, and he enjoys membership in several organizations that recognize excellence in family law practice. In addition, Ted is involved in several bar and professional associations and is an adjunct member of the faculty at Emory University, teaching the Kessler-Eidson Program for Trial Techniques, one of the most highly regarded and intensive trial skills programs offered at any law school.

Ted, his wife Holly, and their three daughters live in the Chastain Park neighborhood of Buckhead. When away from the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters, playing the occasional round of golf, and traveling with his immediate and extended family. He especially looks forward to his annual trip to Walt Disney World, and he is happy to give tips and pointers to families planning trips to the Vacation Kingdom of the World.
