About Attorney Awards

Biography

Brent Shellhorse was the Briefing Attorney to the Honorable Justice Terrie Livingston, Court of Appeals, Second District of Texas from 1998-1999. He joined Whitaker Chalk in 1999 and has extensive experience in helping companies and individuals with a wide array of commercial and complex litigation matters. Brent has worked on numerous cases involving trade secrets and covenants not compete, oil and gas leases, complex commercial disputes, collection matters and mechanic’s liens.

As a former Briefing Attorney, Brent brings a unique, dual perspective to his work that allows him to understand both the legal and persuasive aspects of each case. His work writing briefs also helps him see and distill what’s important to a case. With an appellate background, he is not only capable of handling a matter through final appeal, but also acts as a guide for his clients through the procedural aspects of their case.
