Biography

Tim has over 33 years of litigation experience handling high exposure cases, including personal injury, construction/real estate, insurance/insurance agent litigation, and workers’ compensation/employment litigation. He has successfully tried numerous multi-million dollar cases, usually representing businesses and insurance companies. He can use this experience and knowledge to represent your interest in any type of dispute, whether it is a business or construction dispute, or serious personal injury. Tim is AV Preeminent Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell for the highest level of professional excellence, legal ability, and ethical standards. With over 33 years of litigation experience, Tim has seen it all and can use this experience to help and advise clients who need someone on their side.

Tim grew up in Louisiana in a middle class family and his parents instilled the values of hard work, integrity, common sense, and selfless dedication to others. Tim has always enjoyed hunting and fishing, and played all sports while growing up in Louisiana. Now he spends any spare time playing golf and tennis, and following all sports, his favorite being college football.

Tim moved to North Carolina in 1992 after practicing law in Louisiana for three years, where he immediately started litigating and trying cases as a young lawyer following a one-year judicial clerkship. He has lived in the Lake Norman area since 2002, and is active in the Lake Norman community. He has attended St. Gabriel Catholic Church and Saint Mark Catholic Church since 1992.

After working for larger firms for 8 years, in 1997 Tim co-founded his own firm, Moreau and Marks, PLLC (later Moreau, Marks, and Gavigan), in Charlotte, NC. His goal was, and still is, to provide personalized, responsive, and cost-effective legal advice/representation to a select number of clients. This personal and responsive service ensures that you can have trust and confidence that our small firm is consistently putting all of our focus, experience, and efforts into your important legal matter.

Tim promises to always represent your interests with integrity, honesty, and hard work. Clients love that he is very down to earth, personable, and always shoots straight with them. His commitment to you is to treat your matter as the most important case that he has.
