Biography

Yari D. Lawson is a founding partner of Lawson Personal Injury Attorneys. He previously served as an Assistant Public Defender in the Macon Judicial Circuit and as an Assistant District Attorney in the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. As a criminal defense attorney he tried serious felony cases statewide and obtained acquittals in two murder trials. His personal injury practice concentrates on wrongful death, catastrophic injuries, and traumatic brain injury litigation. Recognitions include Best of Gwinnett (personal injury) and his firm’s designation as Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce Minority Business of the Year (2024). He is a graduate of the American Association for Justice Leadership Academy, the Georgia Young Lawyers Division Leadership Academy, and Leadership Gwinnett. Professional memberships include Georgia Trial Lawyers Association (Champions), Southern Trial Lawyers Association, Million Dollar Forum, Western Trial Lawyers Association, National Trial Lawyers Top 100, and National Black Trial Lawyers Top 100. He serves on the Board of the Partnership Against Domestic Violence and founded the Yari Lawson Athletic Fund to subsidize youth sports participation.
