Kenny’s practice is devoted to regulatory compliance and risk management issues affecting health care facilities and providers. Prior to joining the firm, Kenny represented numerous healthcare clients in both litigation and regulatory matters, including clients in the long-term care and the senior housing industry. Before she became a lawyer in 2003, Kenny was a Registered Nurse and worked with rehabilitation facilities in Birmingham and taught in the School of Nursing at UAB. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing with a clinical focus on hospital epidemiology and infection control. Because of her background in both nursing and law, Kenny is uniquely prepared to help health care clients with survey issues, plans of correction, quality assurance, and informal dispute resolution. She is experienced in appeals involving the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as well as appeals to various state agencies such as the Alabama State Medicaid Agency.

• Represent long-term care facilities before the Departmental Appeals Board of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
