Biography

Alicia Lewis is a member of the Land Use and Zoning practice group at Greenspoon Marder. Ms. Lewis focuses her practice on land use, zoning, environmental and governmental law. Ms. Lewis successfully represents the most prominent real estate developers in the country before federal, state, regional, and local government agencies to obtain comprehensive plan amendments, rezonings, site plan approvals, platting, conditional use approvals, variances, Development of Regional Impact (DRI) amendments, and environmental permitting. In 2016, she was recognized as a “Rising Star” by the Daily Business Review for her work as a land use attorney.

Prior to joining Greenspoon Marder, Ms. Lewis practiced with a prominent local government and public finance firm. She advised public officials and private companies on federal, state, and local government matters and served as special counsel to several cities, counties, and non-profit organizations. Additionally, she traveled across the United States and Canada as a top business consultant for one of the largest consulting firms in North America.

Ms. Lewis is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law and also has a master's degree in public administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she was nominated for the prestigious Rhodes-Marshall scholarship. While in law school, Ms. Lewis was a Senior Editor for the Alabama Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Law Review, a summer associate for two national law firms, and clerked for the Alabama Attorney General and Chief Administrative Law Judge.
