Biography

Karen Elisabeth Trefzger is a seasoned attorney with extensive experience in litigation, insurance defense, and appellate law. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1994 before pursuing her Juris Doctor at the University of Miami School of Law, where she graduated in 1997. After law school, Karen began her legal career as an Assistant State Attorney for Miami-Dade County, where she spent three years prosecuting cases and gaining valuable courtroom experience.

Following her time as a prosecutor, Karen transitioned into insurance defense, spending 19 years at United Automobile Insurance Company. There, she handled all phases of litigation, representing clients in complex cases involving car accidents, insurance claims, and personal injury. Her deep understanding of insurance law later led her to serve as an appellate attorney for the Small Business Administration, where she spent two years focusing on appellate matters and legal advocacy.

Now based in Morgan & Morgan’s Washington, D.C. office, Karen brings decades of litigation and appellate experience to her personal injury practice. Licensed to practice in Florida, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., she is dedicated to fighting for those who have been injured and ensuring they receive the compensation they deserve.
