Biography

Leah Johnson is a dedicated, experienced personal injury attorney. Her focus is helping you to understand the legal process and navigate the often confusing world of insurance claims, and getting you the best possible outcome.

With over two decades of practice, she has had dozens of trials and appeals, over a hundred arbitrations and mediations, and hundreds of depositions. She has handled personal-injury cases, including automobile, motorcycle and bicycle collisions, unsafe conditions like slippery floors or ill-designed roads, and pedestrian accidents. Leah is experienced in dealing with insurance adjusters, interpreting insurance policies, and making sure that her clients get the maximum possible recovery. Her primary focus at Gilroy | Napoli | Short is on personal injury.

Leah is also an experienced criminal attorney. She was a Deputy District Attorney in Marion County, and while in private practice she has defended people accused of DUII, theft, and assault. She has volunteered at Legal Aid to assist victims of domestic violence in applying for restraining orders, and volunteered as a victim’s assistance advocate with the Multnomah County District Attorney’s office.

Leah started practicing in 1997. Before joining the firm as a senior associate in 2017, she was a partner at Ravelo, Johnson, & Nguyen, and a prosecutor in Marion County.

Background

Leah graduated from the University of Washington and from the Willamette University College of Law. While not working as a lawyer, she’s on the Board of the Wilson Youth Football program. She has a husband, three children, and too many pets.
