Ms. Ophelia Wai Yan Chan

Ophelia Chan earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and then made Georgia her home, graduating from Georgia State University College of Law. She started her career inside the Cobb County Probate Court as its staff attorney, where she learned probate from the ground up and saw firsthand how cases succeed—or get stuck—based on procedure and planning. That court experience has shaped the way she practices today, whether she’s guiding a family through estate administration or handling contested matters involving wills, trusts, and decedents’ estates. Ophelia also works with personal representatives and conservators who need clear direction on what the job requires and how to do it correctly. Her work has taken her through probate and superior courts across metro Atlanta and, when necessary, to the Supreme Court of Georgia. She also regularly speaks to bar groups and continuing legal education programs on probate procedure, sharing practical insight from years on both sides of the courtroom.
