Biography

Rachel Platt founded The Platt Law Firm in 2008. Over the years, she has represented individuals and families in a wide range of domestic relations legal issues, as well as representation in education law. She takes the time to understand your individual, family needs and developed strategic solutions to protect your rights and best interests. The firm is committed to getting effective results with responsive representation, while taking the time to understand both the feelings as well as the facts. No matter what you are facing, an uncontested divorce, child custody and support, or even issues surrounding an Individualized Education Program, the staff at The Platt Law Firm is committed to developing a close-working relationship with its clients and providing high quality, caring, and efficient legal services for families.   At The Platt Law Firm, her goal is not to be a high-volume firm, but to provide quality attention and representation for every client. We will listen to you, gain a clear understanding of your priorities, and present an assessment of your case based on the facts you provide. The Platt Law firm handles Domestic Relations and Special Education (including IEPs and 504 Plans) cases in the metro-Atlanta area, including but not limited to: Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, and Henry counties. Some cities include Roswell, Alpharetta, Marietta, Canton, Woodstock, Cumming, and Norcross.   Rachel Platt was recently recognized as a 2014 SuperLawyer by the Atlanta Magazine. She has held numerous leadership positions for many organizations in Atlanta, such as the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (GAWL) and the Atlanta Legal Aid Society. Ms. Platt continually presents lectures and is a featured speaker at Continuing Educations Courses for other Georgia attorneys in the area of family law and special education. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia and the University of Colorado School of Law.
