In a postjudgment dissolution of marriage proceeding, Ms. Lawrence has knowingly misstated the law and facts to the court to avoid sanctions for her having taken monies from her trust account without leave of court (to satisfy a charging lien that she did not pursue and would not have been awarded). Sara Lawrence claimed she had a charging lien and when she never pursued one, and when one would not have been awarded if she had. She took monies from her trust account on the pretense of satisfying the charging lien (knowing that she was not awarded such a lien), and had her client sign an affidavit saying that the client authorized her to take the monies from her trust account to satisfy the bogus charging lien. She denies that an order was entered, even after being sent a copy of the order. Read less
