Biography

Originally from New Jersey, Sarah Patience Jacobs earned a B.A. in Political Science from Monmouth University in 2006 and a J.D. from Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in 2011, where she served as an editor of the Barry Law Review. She began working with Culbertson, Jacobs & LaBoda, PLLC immediately after graduation and has since represented hundreds of claimants in Social Security appeals to federal court, including briefing matters before the Eleventh Circuit. Ms. Jacobs was co-counsel in Culbertson v. Berryhill, which resulted in a unanimous 9–0 decision by the United States Supreme Court on January 8, 2019. In December 2016 she became a Board Certified Advocate in Social Security Disability by the National Board of Trial Advocacy; there are currently only ten board-certified Social Security Disability attorneys in Florida. She serves as Chairperson of the Social Security Committee of the Orange County Bar Association and limits her practice to representing claimants throughout all stages of the disability process.
