Ms. Shakuwra Shaw

Shakuwra Shaw was born and raised in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, where her great-great grandfather, James Bough, was appointed Assistant U. S. Attorney General by President Lyndon B. Johnson. Prior to this appointment, he held the position of U.S. District Attorney. Ms. Shaw obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst at the age of 20. After graduating, Ms. Shaw returned to St. Croix and worked at a prominent law firm for several years. Interested in obtaining a law degree, Ms. Shaw moved to Jacksonville in order to attend Florida Coastal School of Law. During her time at Florida Coastal, Ms. Shaw made the Dean’s List and served as Secretary of Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society and the Caribbean Law Students Association. She was also a certified legal intern at the Disability and Public Benefits Clinic. Ms. Shaw was nominated for the Phyliss Stansel Ethics & Professionalism Commencement Award. She graduated with pro bono honors.

Prior to joining Morgan & Morgan in 2018, Ms. Shaw volunteered at the Office of the Public Defender in Jacksonville. Ms. Shaw is a recipient of the Florida Supreme Court 2018 Pro Bono Lapel Pin, which recognizes her community service dedication.

Ms. Shaw practices in the Government Actions and Whistleblower/Qui Tam division at Morgan & Morgan. In her spare time, Ms. Shaw enjoys Latin dancing, dining at new restaurants, and volunteering with Jericho Road Legal Service Ministry, Inc.
