Biography

Since the start of his legal career in 2006, Nate has built his reputation as one of Montana’s premier trial attorneys. Nate specializes in complex litigation including business litigation, personal injury and civil rights actions, and real property disputes. The results he has achieved for his clients include a settlement of $1,250,000 for the family of a man shot and killed by law enforcement in Yellowstone County, a jury verdict of $1,840,000 for a contractor who was defrauded by an out-of-state contractor, and a jury verdict $2,600,000 for the family of a 4 year old boy who was run over and killed in the mobile home park where he lived.

In 2015, Nate was a finalist in the Missoula Independent’s Best of Missoula Readers’ Poll. In 2018, Nate was awarded the Trial Lawyer of the Year award for his efforts in obtaining a $1,840,000 judgment on behalf of a contractor who had been defrauded, and in settling a civil rights lawsuit against Yellowstone County for $1,250,000. In the summer of 2020, after 14 years with a number of prominent Missoula law firms, Nate made the decision to start his own firm.

Nate grew up in the Flathead Valley, where his love of the mountains was born. Nate enjoys backpacking the trails of the Bob Marshall and Mission Wilderness areas with his wife Erica and their three boys William, Drew and Chase. Nate and Erica have been active in their community while serving as coaches for their boys baseball and football teams, and as board members for a number of sports and school programs. Nate and his family love skiing, fly fishing, wake surfing, and otherwise living life to the fullest in western Montana.
