Biography

Nicholas D. Wogan is an Associate Attorney at Phillips & Associates, PLLC, where he represents employees in cases involving workplace discrimination, sexual harassment, and retaliation. He is dedicated to advocating for individuals who have experienced mistreatment or inequality in the workplace and approaches each matter with empathy, thorough preparation, and a strong commitment to justice.

Before joining Phillips & Associates, Mr. Wogan served as an Agency Attorney with the New York City Department of Education’s Special Education Unit, where he litigated on behalf of the Department in impartial hearings, investigated complaints, prepared witnesses, and conducted settlement negotiations. His experience in public-sector litigation and administrative law gives him valuable insight into how institutions handle employment and disciplinary disputes.

While earning his Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law, Mr. Wogan focused on labor and employment law. He served as Vice President of Internal Affairs for the Labor Relations and Employment Law Society and was a Senior Staff Member of the American Bankruptcy Institute Law Review. His published articles include analyses of labor law and workers’ rights, such as “Scabby the Rat Survives: The NLRB Upholds Workers’ Free Speech Right to Display Inflatable Rat as Protest” and “Times They Are A-Changin? Federal, State, and Local Legislative Employees Seek to Unionize.”

During law school, Mr. Wogan gained hands-on experience through internships with the U.S. Postal Service Legal Office, the National Center for the Study of Collective Bargaining in Higher Education, and the Consumer Justice for the Elderly Litigation Clinic, where he represented clients in arbitration and housing proceedings.

Mr. Wogan earned his Master of Arts in English Literature and Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts, magna cum laude, from California State University, Fresno, where he was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
