Nicholas J. Plante: Attorney with Higgins & Plante, PLLC

Biography

Attorney Nicholas Plante, a founding partner of Higgins and Plante, P.C., practices broadly in Massachusetts probate and family courts. A Worcester State graduate (B.A., 2002) with a J.D. from Western New England University School of Law (2005), he distinguished himself in moot court and oral advocacy. Nick’s practice covers divorce, custody, support, prenuptial/postnuptial agreements, post‑judgment modifications, contested partitions, probate administration, and appellate litigation; he regularly leads appeals before the Appeals Court and Supreme Judicial Court. Appointed often by judges, he serves as Guardian ad Litem, Attorney Representing the Child, parent coordinator, special master, and arbitrator, and appears in District and Superior Courts on restraining‑order matters. Committed to legal education, Nick lectures for the Massachusetts Bar Association CLE and helped develop the Legal Assistance Corp’s divorce representation handbook. He is an active member of the Massachusetts and Worcester Bar Associations. A lifelong Worcester resident, he balances practice with family life—married with two children—and pursuits in reading, travel, art, and cooking.
