Nicholas Jon Solan

Nick Solan is a Virginia and D.C.-licensed attorney whose background blends analytical training with hands-on family law experience. Raised near Pittsburgh, he earned his undergraduate degree in systems engineering from the University of Virginia before completing his J.D. at George Mason University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude. At George Mason, Nick contributed to the Civil Rights Law Journal and gained practical exposure to domestic relations cases through the university’s Domestic Relations Clinic. He regularly publishes updates and commentary on the firm’s Virginia Family Law Blog and has spoken to community audiences about divorce issues, including at the Women’s Center in Vienna. Nick has also worked with servicemembers through George Mason University’s Mason Veterans and Servicemembers Legal Clinic, providing support in divorce matters affecting military families. His career has been recognized with several distinctions, including being named a Virginia Super Lawyer (2024–2026), a Rising Star in Virginia and D.C. (2015–2020), and a Top 10 Under 40 attorney in Virginia (2016–2020), along with inclusion in Virginia Business Magazine’s Legal Elite (2015). He maintains active memberships in the Fairfax Bar Association, Virginia Bar Association, and Virginia Trial Lawyers Association. Nick lives in Washington, D.C. with his family and still refuses to cheer for Jacob’s Florida Gators.
