Biography

Nicholas “Nick” Spetsas is one of the founding partners of Spetsas Buist. He represents individuals and families who have suffered catastrophic injuries, as well as families who have lost loved ones to fatal injuries.

After graduating from the University of South Carolina School of Law, Nick moved back to Florida to begin his legal career. Before founding Spetsas Buist with Charles, Nick gained litigation and trial experience working for a prominent national law firm, representing companies and their insurance carriers in complex civil litigation matters, including personal and catastrophic injury, premises liability, product liability, wrongful death, automobile and trucking liability, and negligent security.

Nick uses his litigation and trial experience to aggressively pursue claims on behalf of clients injured by the negligence of others. Because of the knowledge Nick gained from defending corporations and their insurance carriers, he understands their negotiation tactics and trial techniques. Now, Nick uses this knowledge against the corporations and their insurance carriers to maximize the value of his clients’ cases and to help them get the justice they deserve. He believes in aggressive representation, and he understands that communication is crucial to client satisfaction. Nick is devoted to treating his clients like family.

Nick was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was raised about 20 minutes away from the city in Moorestown, New Jersey. In 2010, Nick’s parents decided to move to a beach town in Northeast Florida, and Nick immediately fell in love with the Sunshine State and the endless possibilities it has to offer.

During law school, Nick gained invaluable litigation experience as a certified student-attorney for the South Carolina Juvenile Justice Clinic. He also interned at a Fortune 500 company, a personal injury law firm, and the South Carolina Office of the Attorney General.

Prior to Spetsas Buist PLLC, Nick gained litigation and trial experience working for the largest insurance defense firm in Florida and, subsequently, a prominent national law firm, where he represented companies and their insurance carriers in complex civil litigation matters, including personal and catastrophic injury, premises liability, product liability, wrongful death, automobile and trucking liability, and negligent security.

Nick's Family

Nick is engaged to Zoie Russo, and they are scheduled to get married in Orlando in Fall 2022. Nick and Zoie currently have an English Cocker Spaniel together, named Cash. Nick met Zoie in 2018 when they were neighbors in an apartment complex in downtown Orlando. The rest is history.

Nick and Zoie enjoy traveling and fitness. When Nick is not practicing law, you will find him surfing and fishing on the east coast of Florida. Nick and Zoie are avid “foodies” who frequent some of the most enjoyable restaurants that Orlando has to offer. You will often catch Nick and Zoie at the local farmers’ markets, enjoying the local arts, crafts, and, of course, food.
