Nicole Chang

Nicole Chang practices in the areas of complex civil and commercial litigation, including shareholder and corporate disputes, oppression claims, securities, class action, and bankruptcy and insolvency litigation. Nicole is also currently obtaining her Masters of Law degree in tax law.

Nicole regularly advises investors, publicly traded companies, small businesses, directors and officers, and financial advisors. Nicole applies a strategic and practical results-oriented approach to her practice. Some notable matters include:

Class Action Defense: representing a financial institution in a national class action involving pre-paid cards, as well as representing a natural health product company in a proposed national class action.

Commercial Litigation: representing investors, directors and officers in various sectors, including in real estate development, mining, cannabis, commercial leasing. Nicole has also successfully obtained court approval of various plans of arrangement.

Bankruptcy & Insolvency: representing various unsecured creditors as well as debtors in bankruptcy matters under both the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act.

Nicole has acted on behalf of clients in matters before the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal, the Provincial Court, the B.C. Securities Commission, and the Mutual Fund Dealers Association (MFDA).

Nicole is also an advocate for diversity. Nicole is the co-chair of W-T’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, an Executive Member of the CBABC Women Lawyers Forum, and a member of the SOGIC Advocacy and Policy committee.

Nicole is trilingual, and is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.
