Biography

Nicole Sommerfeld is a dedicated personal injury attorney who focuses her practice on the representation of workers who have been injured on-the-job. Through her efforts as a workers’ compensation lawyer, Nicole has collected millions of dollars for her clients and continues to fight for those she represents on a daily basis.

Educational Background

Nicole was raised in the Chicago area and as a result, she has a thorough understanding of the city and those who call it home. To further her education, she chose to attend the University of Wisconsin at Madison and she graduated in 1991. At that time, Nicole knew that she wanted to pursue a career in the law where she could fight for the rights of others. This decision led Nicole to return to Chicago and begin law school. She went to The John Marshall Law School where she began to learn the legal skills that she would carry into practice and that would allow her to succeed. Nicole obtained her juris doctor degree in 1994 and became a member of the Illinois Bar shortly thereafter.

Legal Experience

Unlike some other lawyers, Nicole knew early on that her professional calling was to help those with work injuries. To that end, Nicole went to work at a personal injury law firm upon her graduation from law school. During that time, she represented clients in all aspects of workers’ compensation claims from initial client contacts through settlement of a case.

She regularly appears before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission where she fights for the best possible outcome in each and every client she represents and she always put the interests of her clients first.

Nicole has more than two decades of experience in workers’ compensation law. During that time, she has helped countless clients recover by making claims for damages. These claims include:

• Medical care

• Temporary total disability benefits

• Permanent total disability benefits

• Temporary partial disability benefits

• Permanent partial disability benefits

• Vocational rehabilitation benefits

• Death benefits for surviving family members

Nicole’s Work Philosophy

Nicole believes that the interests of injured workers should be placed at the forefront of any case. Further, she takes pride in her role as a staunch advocate for her clients. She fights for them and for their families every day of the year.

Nicole dedicates herself to her clients as they seek to recover from their work injuries. Nicole welcomes the opportunity to discuss a work injury claim with anyone who has been hurt at work. Finally, she will make every effort to help her clients move forward financially and emotionally after an accident.
