Biography

Nicole Pasho is a member in the firm’s General Commercial Practice Group, where she works closely with the Real Estate, Land Use, and Zoning team.

Prior to joining the firm as an attorney, Nicole worked as a litigation associate with Poole Brooke Plumlee PC in Virginia Beach, where she focused on land use, zoning, and property law. She has experience presenting rezoning and use permit applications before the Board of Zoning Appeals, Planning Commission, and City Council as well as counseling clients on land use and environmental law matters.

Nicole received her J.D. from William & Mary Law School and her undergrad degree from DePauw University in Indiana.

A quick handshake

I heard you’re a Cleveland sports fan.

Yes. Growing up in northeast Ohio, I’m a big fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Cavaliers. There’s been a lot of ups and downs over the years, but Cleveland fans are as loyal as they come.

If you had chosen a career other than law, what would you be doing?

I would be a teacher. Prior to law school, I served as an AmeriCorps member teaching English to speakers of other languages as well as providing literacy tutoring to elementary school students. I absolutely loved the relationships I built with my students and seeing their literacy skills develop.

What is your guiding philosophy of your law practice?

Inspired by Justice John Charles Thomas’ remarks at my law school commencement ceremony, I remind myself frequently that as lawyers, we influence and create the law-through the clients we represent, the arguments we put forth, and the positions we take. Sometimes our role requires charting unpaved paths.
