Biography

Nicole Soto-Ortega, a Miami native with Cuban and Puerto Rican roots, has established herself as a distinguished attorney focusing in probate, trusts, guardianships, guardian advocacy, estate planning, and elder law. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Criminal Justice from Florida International University, followed by her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University, graduating Cum Laude and in the top 10% of her class. Nicole excelled academically, consistently remaining on the Dean’s List and earning the CALI Book Award in Guardianship Law. She actively contributed to the St. Thomas Law Review as the Executive Notes and Comments Editor and led the Elder Law Society. Nicole's practical legal experience includes serving as a judicial intern to Honorable Maria M. Korvick and working as an Attorney Case Manager under Honorable Jerald Bagley and Honorable Jorge E. Cueto in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit's Probate Division. Her career also encompasses civil litigation with a focus on insurance defense as in-house Staff Counsel for a leading U.S. insurance firm. In her personal time, Nicole enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending quality time with her husband and family.
