Nolan E. Wiley: Attorney with Isaac Wiles Burkholder & Miller, LLC

Biography

With a background as a professional magician, Nolan Wiley was drawn to becoming a lawyer because of the direct and meaningful impact on others that the practice of law affords.

Known for his humor and being quick on his toes, Nolan’s practice focuses on employment, insurance coverage, real estate, and other civil matters in the firm’s Litigation and Real Estate groups. Having started at Isaac Wiles as a Summer Associate, Nolan’s legal research played an integral role in the 2021 Ohio Judiciary Committee revisions to the Ohio Jury Instructions for employment discrimination. When not litigating, he advises public and private entities on state and federal regulatory compliance issues.

Prior to joining the firm, Nolan worked with experienced appellate and trial attorneys at the Capital Habeas Unit of the Federal Public Defender’s Office, and the Civil Litigation Unit at the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Nolan received his J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he worked as a Research Assistant to Professor Art Greenbaum, a Senior Associate Editor of the Ohio State Journal of Criminal Law, and was invited to represent Moritz at two national moot court competitions for his exceptional writing and oral advocacy skills. He also received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Criminal Law, Client Development, Small Business Finance, and Pretrial Litigation. Nolan received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Kent State University where he was granted University Honors with Distinction for completion of an Honors Thesis of outstanding quality.

When not practicing law, Nolan still performs the occasional magic show, and has been honored to perform shows for organizations such as Cleveland Food Bank, Gathering Place, and United Airlines Fantasy Flight to the North Pole.
