Olga Metelitsa Thall brings a tenacious and compassionate
approach to advocacy on behalf of working people and their unions.
Olga Metelitsa Thall joined James & Hoffman in September 2022. Ms. Thall
advises, litigates, and negotiates on behalf of workers, international and
local unions, and employee benefit plans.
Ms. Thall represents private and
public sector workers with discrimination, retaliation, disability
accommodation, sexual harassment, family and medical leave, wage and hour, and
whistleblower claims at all stages of the legal process. Ms. Thall’s labor law
practice includes advising and representing unions in organizing,
collective bargaining, labor, election, and regulatory matters.
Ms. Thall’s employee benefits practice includes representing
employee benefit plans in litigation before state and federal courts and at
arbitration covering a variety of matters, including denial of benefit claims,
breach of fiduciary duty claims, disclosure requirements, service provider
disputes, withdrawal liability disputes, collections actions, and retiree
health claims. She further advises on matters involving fiduciary duty, plan
design, plan documents, vendors, investment review, and cybersecurity.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Thall was a partner at Mooney, Green,
Saindon, Murphy & Welch, P.C., where she represented
employee benefit plans, unions, employees, and professional associations.
Ms. Thall has been named a Rising
Star Super Lawyer in employee benefits law in the District of Columbia each
year since 2019.
Ms. Thall earned her J.D. from The George Washington University Law School
in 2012. While in law school, Ms. Thall represented low-wage workers for the GW
Public Justice Advocacy Clinic and clerked at the American Red Cross, the
National Labor Relations Board, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the Service
Employees International Union. Ms. Thall obtained a B.A. in Political Science
and French, cum laude, from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York
in 2007. Prior to commencing her legal career, Ms. Thall worked in financial
services and fund accounting at State Street Corporation and interned at the
Paris-based Vovan & Associés Co. law firm.
