Patrick J. Lapera

Patrick J. Lapera is a business transactional lawyer with over thirty five years of experience in sophisticated corporate, finance, and commercial transactions. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut and New York, where he works with clients on merger and acquisitions, divestitures, debt and equity and venture financings, tax exempt financings, reorganizations, real estate and construction contracts, licensing agreements, joint ventures, partnerships and limited liability companies, securities offerings, corporate finance and startup company financing. He also represents clients in the organization and governance of non-profit organizations, including securing tax-exempt status. Attorney Lapera received his Juris Doctor degree cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law, where he served as Managing Editor of the Syracuse Journal of International Law & Commerce, was a member of the Justinian Honor Society, and worked as a research assistant for Professor Martin Fried, author of Taxation of Securities Transactions, Volume 11B. He received his MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in 1980 and graduated from the University of Scranton in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science degree cum laude in Accounting and Political Science.
