Over his career, WCM founder Paul Clark has handled a truly diverse range of litigation, including federal and state trial and appellate work in both New York and New Jersey. At WCM, Paul handles complex insurance coverage matters, high-exposure casualty suits, litigation involving educational institutions, and employment cases and disputes on behalf of management.
Paul began his legal career in 1984 with the Office of the Corporation Counsel of the City of New York, rising to the position of Senior Trial Attorney and trying a wide variety of cases, including those involving alleged police misconduct, medical malpractice and premises liability. Before founding WCM, Paul was a partner in a mid-size litigation firm with offices in New York and New Jersey, where he continued to develop his well-earned reputation as a formidable advocate and a skilled litigator.
Paul is a member of the prestigious Claims & Litigation Management Alliance (CLM), a by-invitation-only alliance of insurance companies, corporations, corporate counsel, litigation and risk managers, claims professionals and attorneys. He is also a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA), an association of college and university attorneys and administrators whose mission is to educate its members about a variety of campus legal issues.
Paul enjoys publishing and lecturing for both the bar and the industry. He has published articles on expert disclosure, trial techniques and substantive legal issues. He has served as a continuing legal education faculty member and has, over the years, lectured to organizations including the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, insurance companies and risk managers from many Fortune 500 companies.
In addition to his legal work, Paul commits significant time to civic and community causes. A “Rutgers” certified youth basketball, baseball and soccer coach, he coaches C.Y.O. high school basketball. A foster parent with the state of New Jersey, he is a past recipient of the Foster Parents of the Year award for Union County.
