Biography

PAULA M. TAN is an associate attorney at GIFFORD, DEARING & ABERNATHY, LLP, with a practice focused on estate and wealth transfer planning, trust and estate administration, and probate.

Prior to joining the firm, Paula worked in the Private Client Services Group at Andersen LLC, where her work focused on providing tax-related services to high wealth individuals, family groups, and fiduciaries.

Paula earned her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law with a concentration in Taxation. While in law school, Paula worked as a Judicial Extern to the Probate Department of the San Francisco County Superior Court and to the Juvenile Delinquency Department of the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Additionally, Paula served as a Senior Articles Editor for the Hastings Business Law Journal, as well as a teaching assistant to Moot Court and Legal Research and Writing classes.

Prior to attending law school, Paula worked for a non-profit organization assisting individuals and families with immigration law and citizenship issues. Paula earned her B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
