Biography

Pete Skvicalo was born and raised in the Black Hills, with deep roots in the local communities. He understands the people, values, and realities of life in western South Dakota, and he brings a practical, no-nonsense approach to the practice of law.

Pete is a South Dakota–licensed attorney with hands-on courtroom experience as a Deputy State’s Attorney in Pennington County. His prosecutorial experience gives him a clear understanding of how cases are built, evaluated, and litigated; insight that directly benefits clients facing criminal charges.

Pete’s legal career is built on a foundation of business and management experience in the Spearfish area. Before practicing law, Pete spent more than fifteen years in business leadership roles in Spearfish and the surrounding area. That experience shapes his straightforward communication style and his ability to guide clients through high-pressure situations with clarity and confidence.

Pete earned his Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Black Hills State University. When he’s not practicing law, he remains deeply invested in the Spearfish community he calls home and enjoys many of the amazing outdoor activities that this area offers. He is committed to serving the community he calls home.
