Biography

Peter J. Krotec was born in Miami, Florida. Mr. Krotec graduated from the Florida State University in 1984 and was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology and also earned a minor in economics and political science. Mr. Krotec was involved in various civic organizations while attending college and was also an active member and brother of the Theta Chi Fraternity, Gamma Rho Chapter. Mr. Krotec attended the Stetson University College of Law located at St. Petersburg, Florida, and received his Juris Doctorate Degree in 1987. Afterwards, Mr. Krotec was admitted to the Florida Bar and was employed as an Assistant State Attorney for the Twelfth Judicial Circuit of the State of Florida until 1989. Mr. Krotec joined the firm as an associate in 1989. He has been a longstanding shareholder of the firm, and has performed a number of duties for the firm including that of managing partner. Mr. Krotec is currently a member of the Florida Bar as well as the Sarasota County Bar Association. He is licensed and admitted to practice before all Florida state courts as well as the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Mr. Krotec has practiced the law of domestic relations for over 25 years. Mr. Krotec primarily handles cases for dissolution of marriage, involving such matters as the resolution of complicated property disputes; division of assets and liabilities; determination of a parenting plan concerning minor children; all support related issues including alimony and child support; establishment of paternity; post-judgment enforcement proceedings; post-judgment modification proceedings regarding marital settlement agreements and/or final judgments; and family law matters of like kind or character, both at the trial and appellate levels. Mr. Krotec has been involved in and tried numerous domestic relations cases in and throughout the state of Florida including Dade County; Collier County; Charlotte County; Orange County; Hillsborough County; Brevard County; Manatee County; and Sarasota County. Mr. Krotec has argued several appeals before the Second District Court of Appeals in and for the state of Florida. Mr. Krotec is supported by various associate attorneys, legal assistants and paralegals of the firm.
