Biography

Peter Scheyer is an attorney and U.S. Air Force veteran with military experience in cybersecurity. He is a FEMA-certified crisis manager who has successfully handled hundreds of data breaches and cybersecurity events. As a member of WSHB's national Cybersecurity and Data Privacy team, Peter counsels clients through business email compromise events, ransomware attacks, fraudulent wire transfers, and other data security incidents. He specializes in complex data security and forensic investigations which calls upon his extensive experience with national security and artificial intelligence. Peter also handles claims arising from these incidents, including data breach class actions, contract and business disputes, and technology errors and omissions claims.

Peter brings a unique and invaluable perspective to his practice, having earned an MBA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a J.D. from the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, where he graduated cum laude and served as an articles editor for the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology.

In addition to his professional work, Peter has handled a variety of pro bono legal matters, including wrongful eviction litigation, government cybersecurity initiatives, immigration cases, and issues affecting nonprofit organizations.

He is licensed to practice law in Washington, D.C.
