Executive Summary
Peter Thorup is a senior partner at Filion Wakely Thorup Angeletti LLP. He articled in 1980 and thereafter began practising labour and employment law with the now Chief Justice of Ontario, Warren K. Winkler, the original founder of the firm. Peter works out of both of the firm’s Toronto and London, Ontario offices. He is involved in all forms of collective bargaining, corporate restructuring, development of pro active employer strategies and labour and employment litigation including union organizing, health and safety, and human rights matters.
He has acted as Co-chair at CLE Programs in labour law for both the Law Society and Canadian Bar Association. Peter and his partner, Roy Filion, are two of a small group of management labour lawyers from across Canada who are consistently listed in the “International Who’s Who of Management Labour and Employment Lawyers”. As well, Best Laywers has three times named Peter "Lawyer of the Year" for his work in labour and employment law in the London/Windsor area - in 2012, 2016 and 2019.
Peter is a Founding Director and Past President of the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers (CACE).
