Biography

Philip Parlante is an associate at Karabatos Rosenkrantz DeMarco Schoenfeld, PLLC. He is a 1990 graduate of the University of Delaware, and he received his Juris Doctor from New York Law School in 1994.

Philip began his legal career at Long Island Legal Services where he supervised a Mental Health Unit that focused on protecting Long Island’s Adult Home residents from abuse and thereafter joined the Domestic Violence Project. While a member of the Domestic Violence Project, Philip represented domestic violence victims in matrimonial and family law matters. Philip also served as the Supervisor of the Domestic Violence Clinic wherein he trained and supervised law students in providing free legal services to domestic violence victims in Family Court matters. During that time, Philip served on the County Executive’s Domestic Violence Task Force and was a member of the Legal Systems Subcommittee.

Philip went into private practice in 2003 and has been exclusively working in the field of matrimonial and family law since that time. Philip has been the lead attorney on numerous trials and appeals involving complex issues of custody, support and equitable distribution. He has been recognized on multiple occasions by the Suffolk County Bar Association for his pro bono efforts including being named Pro Bono Attorney of the Month in November 2020. Philip is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, the Nassau County Bar Association Matrimonial Law Committee, the Suffolk County Bar Association and the New York Family Law American Inn of Court. He has been a guest lecturer at Touro Law Center, the Suffolk County Bar Association, the Suffolk County Women’s Bar Association, Long Island Against Domestic Violence, and Victims Information Bureau of Suffolk.
