Philip Simpkins

Philip Simpkins, the Founding Partner at Themis Legal Group, PLLC, is a legal professional specializing in civil litigation and family law. His career trajectory reflects a commitment to legal excellence and a wealth of experiences.

Philip's academic journey commenced at Southern Methodist University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Following this, he pursued and attained his Juris Doctor from Baylor University School of Law in 1997, marking the foundation of his legal expertise.

Upon successfully passing the Texas State Bar, Philip dedicated a significant phase of his career to public service at the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office. Serving as an Assistant District Attorney, he honed his trial skills by prosecuting over 70 jury trials. His responsibilities included conducting voir dire (jury selection) and serving as the lead prosecutor on various matters. This role provided Philip with a unique insight into the intricacies of jury trials and prosecution.

Transitioning from public service, Philip entered the realm of insurance defense, where he handled a diverse range of complex matters before the court. This experience allowed him to gain valuable, first-hand insights into every facet of the litigation process. Over the years, he has taken and defended hundreds of depositions, written and argued complex motions throughout Texas, and accumulated extensive jury trial, litigation, and prosecutor experience.
