Preston Tisdale

Preston launched his legal career more than four decades ago at Koskoff Koskoff & Bieder. After years of leadership in public defense and community service, he returned to the firm in 2010 with broad trial and administrative experience.He previously served as Director of Special Public Defenders for Connecticut’s Office of Chief Public Defender, where he built and managed the statewide Special Public Defender program from its inception. Earlier, he led the Fairfield Judicial District Public Defender’s Office, overseeing high-stakes criminal matters and office operations.Preston is President of the Public Justice Foundation and serves on the Board of Governors of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. His service has included appointments to the Connecticut Commission on Racial and Ethnic Disparity in the Criminal Justice System, the Connecticut Supreme Court Chief Justice’s Criminal Justice Committee, and the Connecticut Hate Crimes Advisory Committee, as well as teaching roles with the National Defender Training Program and the Connecticut Bar Association.A graduate of Brown University and New York University School of Law, Preston remains active in civic and educational initiatives throughout Connecticut.
