Quentin Wetsel

Quentin Wetsel is a partner at Wetsel & Lederle, LLP, and he brings a unique perspective to energy law because he’s a Sweetwater native who truly understands the value of land ownership. Growing up in West Texas, he saw firsthand how important it is to protect property rights for the next generation. Before he even went to law school, he earned a degree in Energy Commerce from Texas Tech, which gave him a head start on the business side of the industry. Now licensed in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, Quentin focuses on the nitty-gritty of real property law, everything from drafting complex oil and gas leases to examining mineral and surface titles. He’s also a published author who helped start the Journal of the Energy Law Practitioner while at Texas Tech Law. Whether he’s working on a renewable energy lease or a real estate contract, Quentin combines his academic honors with a deep-seated respect for the land. He’s the kind of attorney who doesn’t just see a legal document, he sees a family’s legacy and works hard to ensure it’s legally secure.
